Remember the airplane safety instructions? Put your oxygen mask on first before helping others.
The same is true when you're reparenting your inner child.
You need ENERGY to do this work. Not motivation or even inspiration. Not another book or perfectly curated morning routine.
Actual energy.
And most of us are running on fumes—pretending to be someone we're not (exhausting), over-functioning for everyone else (depleting), abandoning ourselves in a thousand tiny ways each day (soul-crushing).
Building and maintaining our capacity isn't necessarily a "first" thing—it's a "while" thing.
It runs in parallel with inner-child reparenting work.
When you take care of yourself—when you sleep, move, breathe, nourish yourself—you're not just building energy.
You're building internal safety for your inner child. She's watching. She's learning that you can be trusted. That her needs matter. That she's worth caring for.
Your nervous system can't process what it doesn't have the energy to hold.
You can't heal what you can't hold.
And you can't hold anything when you're running on empty.
This lesson is about filling your cup—not so you can give more to others, but so you can actually show up for yourself. For that little one inside who's been waiting for you to have enough energy to truly see her, hear her, hold her.
In this episode, we cover:
Why energy is the foundation of all healing work
The non-negotiables: sleep, movement, breath, and what they're really for
How to journal as an act of listening to yourself (not just venting)
The gratitude practice that actually works (with three specific categories)
Why joy and playfulness aren't rewards for healing—they're part of the medicine
The more resourced you are, the more you can feel. The more you can feel, the more you can heal.
Your inner child deserves a you who has the energy to show up for her.
